Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers: In the unlikely event that Muskoka Rain is sold or merged with another entity, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified if such a transfer occurs and your information will remain subject to this Privacy Policy.

6. How Long We Retain Your Information

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.

Client project records are typically retained for a minimum of seven (7) years following project completion to satisfy accounting, tax, and warranty obligations under applicable Canadian law.

Inquiry and quote records for projects that did not proceed are retained for up to two (2) years, after which they are securely deleted.

Website analytics data is retained in accordance with the data retention settings of our analytics provider (typically 26 months).

When personal information is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized.

7. Cookies and Website Analytics

Our website may use cookies — small text files stored on your device — to improve your browsing experience and help us understand how visitors interact with our site.

Right to Deletion: Subject to our legal retention obligations, you may request that we delete your personal information. We will advise you if any information cannot be deleted and explain why.

Right to File a Complaint: If you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with PIPEDA, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca or call 1-800-282-1376.

Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
